Summary/Description:

TheUniversity of Illinois Chicago (UIC) College of Pharmacy, Department ofPharmacy Practice is seeking a full-time position of Clinical Faculty (OpenRank)/Clinical Pharmacist in the MedicaidServices Group. This group provides services for the Illinois Department ofHealthcare and Family Services (HFS).

General Responsibilities:Provide prior authorization services for the Illinois Medicaid Fee-For-Service program.

Conduct thorough medication profile reviews.Interpret drug-related and laboratory information.Determine appropriateness of drug therapy and provide necessary clinical interventions/recommendations to prescribers.Document communications with providers.Develop clinical criteria and policies.

Provide academic detailing services for HFS.

Conduct one-on-one academic detailing to Illinois prescribers, pharmacists, and other members of the healthcare team.Engage in outreach, recruitment, and promotional efforts to build collaborative relationships and obtain academic detailing visits. Travel may be required ~10-15% of the time.Write and/or review healthcare provider-directed educational and promotional materials, website content, and clinical treatment criteria and algorithms.

Precept pharmacy students and residents on rotation.Special projects and other related duties as assigned.Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications

Graduate of an ACPE accredited pharmacy program with a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, PharmD preferred.Must be licensed or eligible for Illinois licensure as a professional pharmacist prior to hire date.Minimum 3 years of experience in direct patient care setting.Strong interpersonal communication skills with healthcare providers.Demonstrated decision making, team building, customer service, and conflict resolution.Must possess knowledge and skills such that they qualify for an academic faculty position as Clinical Instructor in Pharmacy Practice, College of Pharmacy.Preferred QualificationsManaged care experience preferred; hospital/community experience welcome.Medical writing experience.Strong computer skills.Strong presentation skills, written and verbal communication.Strong data review and interpretation skills.Maintains advanced skills in areas of practice, demonstrating a commitment to continuing professional growth and advancement of the pharmacy profession.
