Speech Language Pathologist Job Description189 day teaching contract, 134 preschool instructional days, and 176.5 instructional days for other school settings.
This individual should have or be able obtain Montana Licensure to practice as a speech language pathologist. Familiarity with IDEA Part C and B is necessary. The individual must function as a collaborative member of a multidisciplinary team during the evaluation/eligibility and IEP processes. Excellent written and spoken communication skills are necessary in order to communicate with multiple agencies and representatives of organizations during eligibility, placement, and consultation. The position requires the ability to design and contribute to professional development for paraprofessionals and teachers, and support parents and young children in the process of entering a school based program. The individual must also possess polished interpersonal skills, engage in sound therapeutic practices, and work to create meaningful integrated language based learning in school settings
Experience working with young children with developmental delays is important. The position requires the individual to be able to work in a fast paced environment and differentiate learning experiences that address individual needs, while working to assist children in meeting standards consistent with Early Childhood Outcomes. In addition to early childhood settings, additional sites and cases may be assigned. Clinical Fellowship supervision is available for recent graduates of a recognized speech/language graduate level program.
