Shift:
Nights, 7p-7a, 12x3, 36hrs per week, EOW
Length:
12 Weeks
E xpected to work on holidays.
Requirements:
GA License1 year of experienceBLSACLSPALSExperience with management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, and TriageFloating within facility and to sister hospital if needed
Patient Population: Adults-Geriatrics - Emergency Department

SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
RTO: MAX 7 days
WEEKEND: Every other weekend
CALL REQUIREMENTS: N/A
HOLIDAYS: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.
Major Holidays are listed below:
Memorial Day: May 27
Independence Day: July 4
Labor Day: September 2
FLOATING: Within facility and to sister hospital if needed
COMPLIANCE: FULL compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year
PATIENT POPULATION: Adults-Geriatrics - Emergency Department
REQUIRED SKILLS: ACLS, BLS, PALS, experience with management of dysrhythmias, central line care/management, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, ventilated patients, and Triage

Emergency room travel nurses are on the hospital front-lines, which is why emergency room travel nurse positions require a candidate who is able to handle a stressful and busy environment. They are responsible for examining patients upon their arrival and carrying out triage tasks to assess their condition. Ability to identify injuries, signs and symptoms, and communicate their assessment to the physician are required for the emergency room nurse. A travel ER nurse assists in patient treatment and explaining prescription information to patient/family among other tasks and must know the facility and government policies as it relates to patient treatment, transfer, and discharge. Educating the patient and their family about continued treatment at home is another task carried out by emergency room nurses before discharge.
