Job purpose

The Director of Operations will be responsible for working with the Senior Pastor to define the process and implement the infrastructure/systems needed to support the mission and ministry of the church. Be responsible for providing leadership through management and oversight, strategic planning and evaluation, facilities management and planning. Continuously build and manage effective and streamlined operations functions: administration, accounting, legal, IT, human resources (HR), security and physical infrastructure.

Duties and responsibilities

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Financial Strategy and ManagementOversee budgeting, strategy, financial forecasting, accounting, and cash flow for administration and existing programs.Review and approve preparation and finalization of monthly and annual financial reporting materials.Ensure that sound bookkeeping and accounting procedures are followed.Administer the funds of the organization according to the approved budget and ACF's culture of generosity.Monitor the monthly cash flow.Ensure ACF complies with all legislation covering taxation and withholding payments.Coordinate all audit activities.Develop and maintain a complete and accurate inventory of all ACF assets.2. Operational Leadership and Management

Continuously develop, manage and improve operational systems and policies, by incorporating goals and objectives that work toward the faith-focused, strategic direction of ACF.Oversee ACF's technology infrastructure and IT contractor to ensure successful management of servers, computers, printers, phones, web access, files, etc.Manage the organization's physical infrastructure, physical plant, and system maintenance (phone system, security, cleaning, etc.) and oversee improvements and renovations.Serve as primary liaison with vendors that intersect ACF's operations.Seek legal counsel as needed for the church. Ensure proper management of legal files.Develop and facilitate a long-term strategic plan for 1, 3, 5, and 10 years.Ensure adherence to 501(c)(3) laws and recordkeeping.Oversee all HR functions.Oversee the relationship and coordination with security contractor and FAST volunteers, to maintain security and safety.Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations.Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and program delivery.Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization and implement measures to control risks.Participate as a member of the PELT (Pastor's Executive Leadership Team).3. Supervision of Operations Staff

Work with each direct report to develop strategic operational systems that reflects ACF's overall missions, vision and values.Ensure that each direct report has a current, written, agreed-upon performance plan.Meet with each direct report on a regular basis to lead, train, and inspire healthy spiritual growth and effective ministry.Perform periodic written and oral evaluations of each direct report.Make sure that each direct report manages their budgets well.Responsible for maintaining effective staff development programs and cultureRequirements

Skills and Qualifications

Preferred: Bachelor's degree, MBA10+ years marketplace experience in managing the finance and administration of an organization.Personal growing relationship with Jesus Christ that sets an example for those we serve and aligns with the teachings and beliefs of ACF.Excellent knowledge of church management theory and practice, as well as church operations experience.Moral and spiritual qualifications as described in 1 Timothy 3.Strong desire to serve other team members and help them to succeed and communicate effectively.Demonstrated experience in financial management and accounting, ideally in the nonprofit sector.Advocate for the mission, vision, and values of ACF.Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people, processes, and systems.Proficient Microsoft Office skills; database knowledge preferred.

Working conditions

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers.

Physical requirements

Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
