About The Adult Emergency Department At Boston Medical Center

The Adult Emergency Department is a level one trauma center and comprehensive stroke center located in Boston’s South End. Position Summary

As an RN in the Emergency Department , you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve.

Job Responsibilities

Deliver nursing care in the Adult Emergency Department, including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patientsCommunicate with various health care team members, patients, and their familiesCoordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleaguesUpdate and manage patient recordsEnter and interpret computerized data/informationFollow guidelines and policies established by BMC’s nursing organizationAssist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects

Job Requirements

Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.1+ years of Emergency Room RN experience requiredTNCC is required and must be obtained by first day of hireCertification in basic life support (BLS)Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required in certain unitsNursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 yearsRelevant clinical experience and/or specialty, certification required for certain practice areasEffective verbal and written communication skillsPhysical ability to meet job responsibilitiesBasic computer proficiencyFluency in another language a plus
