General Summary:

This position will function in multiple roles: CV, EP, and IN Laboratories Registry Abstraction Specialist, Cardiovascular Registered Nurse or Professional Cardiovascular Technologist. Incumbents must work varied hours and shift lengths and respond to an on-call pager, which may include days, evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Under the supervision of the Senior Manager of Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Neurology Laboratories, the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, and Interventional Neurology (CV, EP, IN) Registry Abstraction Specialist is responsible for providing clinical care while also abstracting for the multiple registries the CV Service Line participates in.

Responsibilities:

1. Prepare the patient for the procedure promptly and efficiently.2. Provides patient care before, during, and after procedures.3. Participates in the "Full Stop" and/or "Time Out" process prior to the beginning of each procedure, along with the physician and other team members, as per Bayhealth and unit policies.4. Independently performs the roles of a Professional Cardiovascular Technologist or Cardiovascular Registered Nurse. These roles include circulating, monitoring, and scrubbing.5. Accurately records/documents procedure log in EPIC and MacLab/CardioLab documentation system in real-time.6. Participates in ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) call.7. Assists Cath Lab team with procedure room turnover after every procedure following Infection Control protocol.8. Communicate with physicians, practitioners, and leadership within the Cardiovascular Service line to ensure that the correct data is obtained for entry before quarterly deadlines to achieve outcome goals.9. Participates in departmental meetings as indicated to present data, communicate information, and assist in educating staff about the definitions, terms, and documentation requirements for the individual registries.10. Actively participates in, makes suggestions, and accepts responsibility for outcomes of the Cardiovascular Service Line and organizational performance improvement activities.11. Enhances professional growth and development through participation in education, workshops, webinars, and other pertinent offerings. This includes conferences and meetings related to STS, ACC, or other data management/abstracting enhancements specific to the CV registries.12. Maintains required certifications and completes yearly unit and hospital mandatories before the deadline.13. All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: Associate Degree Nursing; Associates Degree Radiologic Technology; Associate Degree, Nursing or Associates Degree/Certificate, Radiologic Technologies required.Credential(s): Registered Nurse; Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist; Registered Technologist, Radiography; Medical Radiologic Technologist; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support; Basic Life Support; RN required if Education = ADN. RCIS required of Education = Associates Degree/Certificate, Radiologic Technologies.Experience:

Three years' experience within the Cardiovascular, Electrophysiology, Interventional Neurology laboratories.Preferred Education, Credential(s) and Experience:

Education: Bachelor Degree Nursing; Allied HealthCredential(s): Registered Cardiovascular Electrophysiology Specialist; Adult Progressive Care Certified Nurse; Critical Care Registered Nurse (Adult)Experience:
