Graham Cancer Center.

Primary functions include initiation of study protocols, education, and training of pharmacy staff, monitoring study progress, routine communication/collaboration with the principal investigator or assigned research coordinator. The research coordinator will assist in ensuring compliance with regulatory bodies to include the board of pharmacy, CMS, and the Joint Commision.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Initiation, maintenance, and record control for investigational studiesStaff education for the various studies and serving as a resource for the staffServing as the contact for Investigational Drug Research coordinators that require pharmacy supportQuarterly billing for pharmacy services and preparing a quarterly Investigational Drug activity reportTracking of all enrolled patients in various investigational drug protocolsTracking of all cost avoidance/savings from patients enrolled in IDS studiesServing as the primary pharmacy contact for site monitors and coordinators for inpatient study sponsorsMembership in the research coordinators group and attendance at monthly meetings to represent the pharmacy department in investigational drug processesImplements and manages investigational drug information on the intranetImplements and manages the storage procedure for closed trialsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma requiredBachelor's Degree preferredAt least 3 years of pharmacy experience requiredAt least 1 year of experience in infusion or hospital pharmacy preferredAt least 1 year of experience in sterile compounding preferredPharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required, unless enrolled in a PharmD programAcademic course work in research methods or equivalent training through work experience preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS:Standing and walking with intermittent sitting. Occasional extended periods at computer terminal. Required movement throughout ChristianaCare.
