The Department of Neurology at the University of Missouri - Columbia is seeking a full-time General Neurologist to join our vibrant and growing multi-specialty Neurology practice.This is an excellent career opportunity for candidates just starting their careers, as well as experienced candidates to join a thriving academic neurology department. Join two additional General Neurologists as we expand our clinical offerings and practice models. Clinical and some didactic teaching is expected, and the opportunity to precept in resident clinic is available.Opportunity Details:* Join a department of 30+ physicians and neuroscientists* Strong collaborations with Neurosurgery, PM&R, Physician and Occupational Therapy, and Primary Care* Opportunities to assist in the department's growth, the education of medical students and residents, and pursuit of other academic/research interests.* No inpatient or night call* Practice Schedule M-F 8 AM-5 PM* All ranks available commensurate with experienceAs the largest Neurologic Care Team in mid-Missouri, the department's facilities include:* A dedicated 28-bed Neurosciences Center with 6 bed EMU* 30-bed Neurosciences ICU* AANEM Lab Accreditation with Exemplary Status* NAEC Level IV Epilepsy program* DNV-Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center* Certified MDA/ALS clinics* An accredited Sleep Program* Outpatient infusion center
Our academic programs include a neurology residency program and the following six ACGME -accredited neurology fellowship programs:o Clinical Neurophysiologyo Endovascular Surgical Neuroradiology (dual UCNS certification)o Sleep Medicineo Advanced Sleep Medicineo Vascular Neurologyo Neuro Critical Care (dual UCNS certification)In addition to clinical opportunities, NextGen Precision Health, MU Center for Translational Neuroscience and Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory offers a vast array of academic and research opportunities. Currently, there are established basic and translational research programs with 30+ clinical trials in Neurology.
