Job Title: Registered Nurse Job Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Job Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15) Guaranteed Hours: Not specified Experience: At least 2 years of recent experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: AL or Compact License in hand at time of submission Certifications: BCLS Must-Have: - Ability to pass a cardiac exam during orientation- Willingness to float to other areas, including different facilities- Every other weekend work required - Experience working with adults and geriatrics - Capability to handle a fast-paced, high caseload environment Job Description: - This unit is designed for patients who require hospitalization and intensive therapy.- Patients are involved in therapy for 3 hours per day.- Common patient diagnoses include CVA, Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries, motor vehicle accidents, debility, and traumatic brain injuries.- Nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5/6, with occasional 1:7.- Must be flexible with role, as it may require floating to other Medical-Surgical/Telemetry units.- Participate in required dysrhythmia test during orientation with a pass/fail grading.- Maintain compliance with attendance and performance policies.- Must bring personal stethoscope for work.- Compliance document deadline is the Monday prior to start.- Flu Vaccine: Required - Medical/Religious exemptions only.- Scrub color: NavyThis opportunity is open to local candidates with the same rate, and first-time travelers are welcomed to apply.
