Job DescriptionGDS Associates, Inc. has an exciting and challengingopportunity for a Senior Project Manager as part of the system design andplanning team referred to as Hi-Line Engineering. The Senior Project Managerwill have direct contact with clients and will travel to project sites asneeded to meet client needs. This project will be a fully remote position thatwill require reporting to the project site 3-5 days per week. This positionwill specifically entail providing onsite construction management and leadershipsupporting of a large electric undergrounding construction project in theFlorida Panhandle that is expected to last two to three years. In addition, the position may also include developmentof project or study plans with economic evaluation, preparing technicalreports, cost analyses, in conjunction with development and givingpresentations. Knowledge of project designs, plans, and specifications areintegral to this position and construction management experience with FederalGovernment and DoD US Military projects is a plus.The Senior Project Manager organizes, directs and controlshighly complex electric utility projects, from concept through design,specifications, construction and closeout of the project: develops complexelectrical engineering designs, specifications, and cost estimates: prepareswritten reports for electric utility maintenance and construction programsassociated with various projects and facilities. The Senior Project Manageralso has responsibility to solicit new work from existing clients, solicit new clients,and prepare proposal to RFPs. Specific technical task assignments may include:Develop and prepare plans,specifications, and cost estimates for projects requiring engineeringcapability in the electric utility industry.Schedulednumerous construction activities with the electric-utility owner and theon-site owner who is also scheduling civil, water, wastewater, andbuilding construction.Help to ensureconstruction meets the utilities' materials standards, equipmentspecifications, and operating procedures.Workingknowledge of overcurrent protection of electrical systems.Work with andprovide guidance for the utilities' customers for the efficient use ofelectric energy, in establishing utilities service requirements, faultcurrent protection, load management and demand control, power factorcorrection, and systems safety and protection schemes.Develop andgive presentations relating to the construction project, budgeting, andscheduling.Experience and Skills
Experienceand Skills:Bachelor ofScience degree in electrical engineering (with power option or equivalentexperience). Other engineering degrees will be considered as well if theapplicant has past experience with construction management of largeFederal Government or DoD US Military projects.Minimum 12years increasingly responsible electric utility engineering and projectmanagement experience.Registration asa professional engineer is desired, but not required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Knowledge of electricaltheory, design parameters and applicable codes and regulations as appliedto electrical utility distribution, transmission, generation, and/ortelecommunications facilities.Knowledge ofmajor utility operations and engineering: data processing engineeringapplications: value engineering and capital investment decision analysis.Ability to workindependently on major engineering projects concurrently.Ability tocompose clear and accurate technical reports, communicate with others andto assimilate and understand information in a manner consistent with theessential job functions: ability to make effective oral presentations;using state-of-the-art technologies.Ability tonegotiate effectively with other departments and outside agents.Ability tounderstand and verbalize contract issues both in writing and orally.Ability tocreate drawings and write specifications, prepare cost estimates, prepareconstruction contracts and request for proposals.Ability tosupervise and lead project team.Ability todelegate, assign tasks to project team.Ability tomaintain physical condition appropriate to the performance of assignedduties and responsibilities, which may include sitting for extendedperiods of time and operating assigned office equipment.Ability tosolicit new work from existing and new clients.

The projected compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000 (annualized USD).
