We provide a one-stop solution that offers new product development or precise replication of existing recipes as well as product manufacturing and packaging. Our custom product lines include poultry, meat and fish specialties, pastas, soups, sauces, certified organic and vegetarian offerings. These can be prepared as entrées, plated meals or bulk-packed meal components.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Quality Systems Manager is responsible for leading and managing the administration of documents and audits required to qualify ingredients and suppliers. The Quality Systems Manager will provide administrative support and leadership to Quality, Commercialization and Operation initiatives, including review and approval of ingredient and supplier documents, database (Tracegains) management, and ingredient evaluation, change control support, written communications, supplier performance trend analysis and supplier audit.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties and Responsibilities:Design, execute and implement, and support processes on ingredient and supplier qualification, and Tracegains management to eliminate compliance gaps.Partner with Commercialization team including project management, R&D, Purchasing, Packaging Engineer and Quality to support consistent approach throughout the new product commercialization process. Actively participate as a key member to fulfill ingredient and supplier review and qualification.Manage food safety and FSMA compliance through a central repository database, Tracegains, and actively upkeeping its general maintenance to achieve min. 99% completion.Conduct weekly audit on Tracegains system to ensure 100% accuracy; the scope includes Tracegains ingredient and supplier used by all non-branded business units.Keep the document library up to date, contact supplier to obtain the most up to date documents to ensure compliance with current food law and regulations.Partner with Purchasing, Regulatory and R&D on raw material change control. Follow department procedure and properly document each change control. General maintenance to achieve min. 98% completion is mandatory. Work actively and report to department head weekly and gain approval decision.Monitor supplier qualification profile including 3rd party food safety audit results, certificate, HACCP, LOG, Insurance, etc. for compliance and report if any discrepancy to company policy.Create and maintain Supplier Corrective Action Report (SCAR) on third party portal, follow up on response and credits on a timely manner.Support as needed, and work with Ops and Quality on ingredient on shelf-life evaluation.Establish and create raw material receiving worksheet accurately in SAP and Specs system, actively review to ensure accuracy on each raw material and its approved supplier.Maintain an approved supplier and ingredient list accurately. Conduct quarterly audits for each non-branded business unit and report results to department head.Manage FDA FSMA Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) for imported raw materials.Support non-branded business unit customer databases (e.g. SpecConnect, Resiprotrak, Tracegains, FoodlogiQ, etc) and conduct monthly audits to ensure accuracy and general maintenance of the database to fulfill customer requirements.Develop and implement change management procedures incorporating a formalized change control process ensuring that changes to ingredient and supplier processes are formally documented and approved.Ensure efficient tracking and documentation of ingredient and supplier related documents are consistent with FSMA and claim compliance.Document control for QA using the five-step process of Request, Review, Assess, Decide and Implement.Responsible for documentation and reporting of KPI metrics for supplier and ingredient performance and report in weekly QA staff meeting.Review ingredient items on hold and follow up with a disposition.Assist Quality team in investigation of raw material non-conformance issue and connect with supplier as needed to trouble shoot and for corrective action plan.Perform supplier audit as needed especially for top 10 high risk and high spend suppliers.Actively review, analyze, challenge and feedback information on ingredient and supplier documents to ensure FSMA and Food Regulation compliance.Perform duty and participate actively and positively in projects assigned by direct supervisor and the Quality department.REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Engineering, Nutrition or related field.3-5 years' experience working in a plant FSQ setting and supplier documentation.Ability to learn regulatory compliance and process requirements including FSMA, FSIS, USDA, FDA, CFIA, PCQI, SQF and HACCP.2-3 years' experience in a Managerial and Compliance role.Excellent leadership skills.Strong Microsoft Office skillsStrong verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Must be able to access and navigate the department at the organization's facilities.Physical Attendance is required - Remote is not optional.
