Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties

Greet and register new plasma donors into the donor management computer systemConduct screening procedures to include taking blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, and arm checksPerform finger sticks to test donors for hematocrit testing and total protein testing utilizing screening equipment. Monitor the electronic donor questionnaire systemDetermine donor eligibility by performing donor eligibility assessments, to include; medical history interview, physical examination, educating donor on donor testing, HIV/AIDS virus, donation risks, informed consent, confidential self-exclusion, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE) testing as necessaryProvide counseling to Donors regarding unacceptable test resultsInitiate and assist in donor investigations regarding Post Donation InformationEvaluate and attend to donor adverse events during the donation processFollow all standard operating procedures for all medical emergencies, to include communication with the Center Medical Director and donor transport to emergency medical care facilities. Communicate and seek direction from Center Medical Director and Center Management as necessaryLearn and maintain thorough familiarity and compliance with all state and federal regulations, Standard Operating Procedure Manual, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), and internal Company ProceduresThorough knowledge of applicable Company and departmental policies and procedures as well as the willingness to learn and follow any policy or procedure that may be introduced in the futureMaintain an open line of communication with ManagementEnsure and maintain the confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center informationMaintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions with donors, fellow employees, and vendorsAbility to accept performance feedback in a professional mannerRegular attendance and arriving on time to all scheduled shifts and mandatory meetingsOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum one (1) year work experience preferredActively licensed or certified in the state where performing duties:

Registered Nurse (RN) Only!Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification requiredRequirements
