RECREATION THERAPIST

Jamaica Hospital Nursing Home is a not-for-profit, short-term rehabilitation/long-term care facility, located in Jamaica, New York on the campus of Jamaica Hospital Medical Center. We are a CMS five-star rated facility and ranked in the 1st Quintile for Quality. Our facility is in need of a motivated individual to join our dynamic team as a Recreation Therapist. This position is a temporary position anticipated to last approximately 2 months.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Documentation, planning, organizing, facilitation, and promoting Therapeutic Recreation and treatment programs.The ability to discern the needs and behaviors of sub-acute/ rehab patients.Able to addresses/accommodate the age-specific physical, psychosocial and emotional changes in residents when planning programs and/or delivering care appropriately, as they differ from those of the elderly.Demonstrates ability to originate new and unique programs.Capable of transporting residents to and from recreation areas.Demonstrates good time management skills.Requirements

Bachelor's Degree requiredExperience in medical chart documentation including assessments, care planning, MDS, and progress notes.Computer skills are required.
