We are looking for
Medical Technologists / Medical Lab Scientists
for full-time positions in Nashville, TN serving the VA TVHS Healthcare System, covering the following shifts:
day shift
(MURFREESBORO CAMPUS)
- 8 am - 4:30 pm Monday to Friday
night shift weekdays - 330pm-7 am, 7 days a week
weekend shift - 7 pm Friday - 7 am Monday weekend only
rotating holiday shift - 330pm-7 am
Duties and responsibilities
Perform stat and routine testing in the laboratory
Conduct specimen processing and preservation
Perform patient/unit blood compatibility and issue compatible blood and blood products
Perform required quality control and instrument maintenance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology (4 academic years above high school leading to a bachelor's degree with courses related to the occupation, e.g., biological science or chemistry)
AMT or ASCP certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist required OR an equivalent MT, MLS, CLS certification with appropriate training
Must have at least 1 year of experience in a medical lab setting (specimen processing, hematology, chemistry, coagulation, urinalysis, basic microbiology, and blood bank)
Ability to communicate fluently in English.
Must be authorized to work in the US by any employer, without sponsorship
Must be able to provide proof of immunizations (Influenza, Covid, Hep B, etc.).
