The Security and Workplace Violence Prevention Manager is tasked with ensuring a safe and secure work environment within a highly matrixed organization.This role leads safety and physical security operations for all UMP owned and managed locations, including security assessments, maintenance of security equipment and technology, and security project management.This position responds to security and workplace violence events; assists with threat protection activities; investigates incidents; and helps to mitigate risk for matters involving threats of violence, inappropriate communications, assault, and harassment. UMP's overall approach centers on preventing workplace violence, training response readiness and equipping staff and providers in use of de-escalation tactics. This role helps to develop and lead staff education and training and communicates regularly on security related matters that impact the workplace.This position builds and maintains partnerships with key internal stakeholders and leaders and serves as a key liaison for partnerships with the University of MN and Fairview Health Services. What you will do as aSecurity and Workplace Violence Prevention Manager: Manages UMP physical security systems, ensuring daily operations are conducted in an efficient manner including programming and maintenance of video surveillance, access control, Lenel, Brivo, Continuum, and other security systems and software. Coordinates physical security projects, expansions, improvements, and redesigns. Develops policies and procedures related to the physical security at UMP locations and staff and patient safety and security across the UMP system. Acts as the security representative for UMP clinic leaders and employees, including addressing daily concerns, triaging reported situations, conducting security investigations, and writing security reports. Leads UMP Workplace Violence Committee (WPV) and related program development. Reviews ACT and COMPASS conduct events related to safety/security and workplace violence incidents. Tracks and closes investigations and analyzes trends and patterns in order to identify causation, mitigate loss, and change processes to prevent future incidents. Develops and maintains plan for WPV training, education, and awareness including threat assessment, de-escalation, and behavioral response training with a focus on incident prevention and response readiness (not just incident response). Creates and delivers training content to educate employees and advise UMP staff on workplace safety protocols, personal safety and awareness, and best practices for crime prevention and response. Creates collaborative, cross-functional partnerships across the matrixed organization and the community, including internal teams, local law enforcement, community liaisons, and security services for Fairview and the University of MN. What you will need: Bachelor's degree preferred in risk management, industrial safety and health, safety engineering, safety management or closely related field OR AA's degree and equivalent experience in one or more of these areas. Minimum 4 years of relevant corporate security, law enforcement, or military experience. Ability to drive between locations is required. Experience managing physical security integration and budgets. Experience designing/developing a physical security program. Advanced MS Office. Ability to read floor plans and technical drawings related to security systems and installs.
