Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Wastewater Project Manager to join our collaborative team in Stephenville, TX. As the Project Manager you’ll work with project staff to oversee the operations, compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing of a wastewater treatment plant. Partnering with other team members and our client you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, wastewater process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to: monitor, record and operate the wastewater treatment process; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required. As the project manager, you’ll be leading a team of motivated and certified operators while also managing the project’s financials and safety performance.

• Texas Wastewater Treatment Class B Certification, or the ability to obtain it within 6 months

• Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of wastewater treatment operations; general equipment maintenance; and safe work practices.

• Five years of progressive experience in Wastewater treatment

• Able to travel up to 5%

• Valid State Driver’s License with no major infractions

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Familiar with NPDES, and other applicable permits, with successful permit compliance

• Associates or College degree in Engineering, Environmental Science or Business Administration

• A minimum 3 years of supervisory experience (preferred)

• Knowledge of laboratory practices and certification

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the client, the public, coworkers, elected and appointed officials

• Fundamentals of preparing and executing budgets

• Experience in report preparations

• Proficiency or knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Maintenance Connection, and HachWIMS.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:

The work area can involve a working environment indoors, as well as, outdoors which could cause exposure to outdoor elements; proper environmental attire will be required. Some areas can have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, pathogens and various chemicals. Safety is of the utmost importance. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, twist and bend at the waist, turn, kneel, squat, raise arms above shoulder height, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements and fine coordination when preparing reports and using a computer keyboard, have vision sufficient to read computer screens, printed documents and operate office equipment, have hearing in the normal range with or without correction. In an 8-hour time period must be able to transport self across the facility, ascend and descend stair steps, lift objects up to 50 pounds from floor level to waist height, wear and use appropriate safety equipment.
