Network Director hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Program Manager 3 and the specifications outlined in this document. The worker will provide comprehensive oversight of the IT Network. Work involves directing the activities and staff of the network administration and network architect teams; establishing a strategic plan with goals and objectives along with tools to measure progress in meeting goals; managing highly advanced network projects; managing activities associated with a local area network (LAN) or Wide Area Network (WAN) Internet and intranet systems; planning, designing, and integrating data telecommunications networks; oversight for designing, installing, and monitoring network systems; developing policies and procedures; preparing budget recommendations; and evaluating potential network enhancements. Reports to the Chief Information Officer (CIO). Manages a team of professional and technical employees. Worker will perform these tasks:

Responsible for developing and executing short and long-term strategic plans to ensure network capacity, reliability, scalability, and security needs are met now and into the future.Leads a team of Information Technology professionals; Leads the creation and delivery of solutions as a Subject Matter Expert; Provides expert guidance to the team on new solutions and designs.Conducts research and recommends changes in services, products, protocols and standards to support development efforts and network procurements.Reviews proposed solutions to ensure the delivery of a quality product or service to the customers.Evaluates network technologies for potential acquisition and directs the evaluation of various hardware and software resources to identify strengths, weaknesses, and potential benefits to the agency.Manages third-party vendor and leads, directs, and utilizes knowledge on best practices in areas related to networking, data, and telecommunications.Monitors and defines the requirements of the overall security of the enterprise network. Oversees the monitoring and implementation of hardware and software solutions to help mitigate a wide variety of network attacks.Mitigates escalations of client incidents and issues. Assess and troubleshoot, consult with vendors, and coordinate with other teams for problem resolution.Manages and establishes priorities for maintenance, design, development, and analysis of complex network systems.Perform current state and future state network service mapping, conducts gap analysis, estimates and plans delivery milestones, communicate plans and progress, and leads cross-department development meetings.Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
