Responsibilities
Ascension Health Illinois is seeking a fellowship trained Breast Surgeon to join its expanding breast team. This is a full-time position, based in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago, responsible for evaluating , diagnosing and performing breast cancer surgery in addition to providing treatment of all breast health issues.

Position Highlights:
Established patient experienced-focused Breast Surgery Program, offering a full range of services including access to NCI-sponsored Clinical Trials and Genetic Counseling.
Strong local partnerships that support diagnostics and reconstructive surgery
Candidates must be board certified/eligible and be able to obtain licensure in Illinois
Medical degree from an accredited medical school
Fellowship training in Breast Surgical Oncology
Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery and Breast Surgery
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Medical Licensing Board obtained prior to hire date
Demonstrated expertise in breast surgical procedures and management of breast diseases

Responsibilities:
Perform surgical procedures related to the diagnosis and treatment of breast conditions, including lumpectomy, mastectomy, lymph node dissection, and breast reconstruction
Evaluate and diagnose patients with breast abnormalities through clinical examination, imaging studies, and biopsy procedures
Provide preoperative and postoperative care to patients undergoing breast surgery, including counseling, education, and follow-up appointments. Stay updated on the latest advancements and techniques in breast surgery

Requirements
Licensure/Certification/Registration
:
Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Credentials are verified by local staff credentialing office.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.
Education:
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
