The Columbia VA Medical Center is urgently seeking an onsite Board-Certified Urology Surgeon to deliver skilled, safe, comprehensive, & expert quality Urology care, in and outside of the Operating room, to the Veterans who receive healthcare treatment at this facility. At least three (3) years of Urology experience is preferred.

Hours for Service/Shifts:
Clinic and Call Schedule: Monday through Friday- 8.00am EST – 4.30pm EST
Scheduled Clinic Days: Monday through Friday- 8.00am EST-4.30pm EST
Scheduled Operating Days: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday- 7.00am EST – 4.00pm EST

Salary Range:
$150/hour - $250/hour
(Negotiable-To be discussed- Competitive Salary Range with basic benefits)
Degree Requirements & Credentialing:
Doctor of Medicine(MD), or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine(DO), or an equivalent degree from an approved school in the US or Canada, with accreditation by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association, or, the Association of American Medical Colleges: Liaison Committee on Medical Education, or, the Commission of on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or, an accrediting body recognized by the US Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia
Board Certified by the American Board of Urology
Clear and Active DEA Certificate
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent
Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing Urology Surgical Operations in both Inpatient & Outpatient settings
Clinical Management to include initial workup and evaluation consultations for both Inpatient and Outpatient settings by obtaining of medical history, conducting physical examinations, ordering and evaluating appropriate laboratory tests
Follow up in Continuum of care Post-operative processes to include admissions, discharges, histories, physicals and coordinating diagnostic testing post-surgery in order to ensure optimal outcomes
Educating and counseling patients and caregivers about pre- and post-surgical care
Coordination of medical management and care with Primary care providers and other personnel in the multidisciplinary healthcare Team
Participation on committees as required to set quality improvement initiatives in place
Performing administrative tasks to include peer review & ongoing professional practice evaluations
