Childcare - Afterschool Site Director
Hours: Monday - Friday 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Afterschool Site Directors will oversee the daily operations and management of a site. The Site Director is instrumental in making sure all afterschool activities are planned and scheduled daily for enrollees, and that all Group Leaders understand their daily roles and responsibilities to ensure that all children are provided with a safe, engaging, bully-free, and intentionally fun environment.
Requirements:Must qualify for Texas Department of Health and Human Services state license, including passing background checks.Minimum age: 21 years; Education: High School Degree/G.E.D. or higher.At least 1-year previous experience in childcare or other recognized facility with a bachelor's degree OR 2 years of full-time experience working in licensed childcare with at least 70 credit hours of training in child or youth development, recreational leadership, or management without a bachelor's degree.Complete required childcare training aligned with the YMCA, Texas Health and Human Services, Texas Workforce, and Texas Rising Star.Participate in all scheduled staff meetings, training, and any other events deemed necessary by the Program Director.Serve as the Governing Body for Texas Health and Human Services Licensing visits, inspections, as well as follow-up with requested information.Supervise and coach part-time Group Leaders with the assistance of the Program Director.Manage the supervision, safety, and program implementation for enrollees while ensuring the well-being of all children.Keep an accurate daily count of children each day and follow the policy/procedure to ensure each child is accounted for.Report staff or child incidents, accidents, or suspected child abuse to the supervisor and follow the policy/procedure for completing reports after each occurrence.Implement and track monthly safety drills to practice site evacuation and emergency procedures for fire, inclement weather, lockdown, etc.Manage supply expenses, inventory, ordering, and storage management, as well as coordinating any grounds maintenance or upkeep.Encourage creativity and intellectual curiosity by building on the child's interests and talents.Maintain a strong, positive relationship with the local YMCA personnel to ensure our community connection to that branch, as well as communicating effectively with parents and staff.Stand and walk for long periods to provide proper auditory and visual supervision of each child's ongoing activity, carry at least 30 pounds when needed, and go from sitting to standing with ease.Portray a positive role model for youth, their peers and the organization by maintaining an attitude of respect, loyalty, patience, integrity, courtesy, and maturity.Join our team and make a meaningful impact in your community as a YMCA Site Director!
