Scope : The primary function of the Superintendent 1 is to assist Superintendent 2, Superintendent 3, or other assigned supervisor(s) in all matters related to field activities for a specific project. A Superintendent 1 may be assigned overall responsibility for a smaller project where appropriate.

FLSA Status

Full-Time (Salary-Exempt)

Salary Range : $70,000 - 99,000

Reporting Relationship : Reports to the Director of Operations, Superintendent 3, Superintendent 2, or other assigned supervisor(s)

Technical Skills

Capable of being successful in the lead Project Superintendent role on a project with a project budget of up to $5M, under various delivery methods, diversity in market sectors, and varying complexities. The intent is this individual can run the aforementioned project budget range without full-time supervision.Assist Superintendent 3, Superintendent 2, or other assigned supervisors(s) when part of a large project team.Has the ability to manage a specific scope or area of a large project as part of a large project team.Manage all field inspections and testing for specific scope areas or entire project if lead superintendent.Reads and understands subcontracts and the associated exhibits. Has the ability to enforce contractual obligations in the field.Contract Documents - understands trade scope and RFI's and Submittals within the Contract Documents.Construction Drawings - Has a good understanding of how to navigate drawings and specifications and associated changes.Submittals - understands the submittal process, uses submittals to ensure materials and installation meet the requirements.PlanGrid / Document Log - Uses PlanGrid; maintains accurate database; accurately records red-line markups.Meeting Minutes - Accurately records and publishes relevant info. Diligently follows up on action items.Assist in the development, maintenance, and enforcement of the overall project schedule and 4 or 8-week look ahead project-specific schedules.Participates in training and works towards being proficient in CPM scheduling.Management Skills

Assist in the development, maintenance, and enforcement of the overall project schedule and 4 or 8-week look ahead project-specific schedules.Coordination of all daily subcontractor activities for specific scopeManage WEO employed or 3rd. party provided laborer responsibilities.Shows the capacity to manage all onsite activities (areas) under the direction and mentoring of the Project Superintendent staff and/or the Project Manager.Attend weekly Foreman meetings and actively participates in meetings pertaining to the work they are managing.Lead an On-Site Safety Meeting - including completion of weekly Site Safety InspectionsCreate and issue all project-specific Incident Reports and Near Miss ReportsAssists in implementing and enforcing the project-specific quality control program to include all subcontractors.Participates in training and works toward being proficient in WEO safety standards.Promotes safety with the tradesman through Jobsite safety meetings and job hazard analysis.Maintain and enforce a project-specific site logistics plan and temporary facilities.Participates in training and works toward being proficient in our ever-evolving technology and software (Litmos, Roundtables, QRM's, etc.Starting to understand risk and Jobsite exposure and learning to begin mitigating such occurrences.Provides input to the PE/PM on-field activities that have cost or schedule impacts in the field.Develops clear and precise daily reports.Establish and maintain relationships with the project team, subcontractors, inspectors, AHJ's, and vendors.Through a sense of urgency drives for results and successTakes initiative strives for increased responsibility, and has a desire to learn.General understanding of SWMP and the compliance process

Physical Demands

Performance of the required duties will require physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, sit, talk, and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works on-site at the construction worksite where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.

Qualifications :

Four-year degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience in a related field or 3-5 years minimum of relevant project field experience, as a Field Engineer or equivalent

Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)

Basic familiarity with Microsoft Project or ASTA Scheduling Software and Project Management Software, such as CMiC or equivalent applications. With general knowledge and experience, using daily software tools, such as Bluebeam, Plan Grid, etc.

Completion of OSHA 30-Hour Safety Course First Aid and CPR certified

Understanding of construction administration processes, including construction documents, schedules, RFIs, Submittals, and material procurement
