POSITION DETAILS

Position Summary

The Director of Continuous Improvement position will lead and manage the lean transformation journey. You will cultivate and maintain a lean culture using various continuous improvement tools to achieve world class manufacturing performance. You will draw on your experience in lean manufacturing, improvement projects, and operations management experience.

Principal ActivitiesLead the Warren team in its pursuit of improved lean manufacturing via continuous Kaizen activitiesThrough leader that will be responsible for creating an innovative atmosphereLeverage cross functional skills and expertise to rapidly address questions and issues that they find out on the floor (preventing nonconformances before they occur)Support operations in the creation and management of Standard Work InstructionsDevelop metrics and dashboard measures designed to include the entire operations population in both understanding key performance indicators and necessary actions to improve KPIsWork with supervisors to identify and prioritize improvement initiatives to achieve business results using best practice Process Management toolsCoach, Facilitate, or Lead advanced improvement events including Value Stream Mapping of complex value streams, Kaizens, and projectsServe as an internal change agent to institutionalize Lean methodology to support the business strategy planHold cross-functionalProvide training and coaching in Lean production, process knowledge, and management toolsLead and support problem-solving sessions using the appropriate tools for sustainable resultsIdentify patterns of success and replicate throughout the operationSupport the Operations team in coaching individuals in key roles to develop proficiency by leveraging formal training, improvement events, and mentoring. Manage portfolio of certified event leads to gain organizational self-sufficiencyEnhancing the program to world class levels through innovation and benchmarking, driving business unit and site self-sufficiencyOther duties as assignedJob Requirements:

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated experience in Six Sigma, Toyota Production System, and Lean Process improvement toolsDirect experience with Process ImprovementDemonstrated Analytical Thinking skillsDesigning and facilitating Manufacturing projectsAbility to prepare and deliver effective presentationsAbility to compile data, analyze data, and formulate improvement initiativesStrong team building skills and the ability to facilitate team-based initiativesExcellent written and verbal communication skills, business process improvement knowledgeIntermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office SuiteTeacher and Coaching mentalityAdvanced project management skillsManufacturing operations process and toolsEducation and/or Experience

Bachelor's Degree in any Engineering Discipline (Mechanical, Science, Technology, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent experience of 5 years or more10+ years leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed organizationLean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certified a plusOther
