This onsite position will support our Southside Medical Center (Petersburg, VA) and Southern Virginia Medical Center (Emporia, VA) locations. Primary office will be at Southside.

SUMMARY
This position reports to the Facility CFO, and provides financial and operational support to the designated sites by working with the corporate office, management, staff and other key leaders. Provides financial analytics to support strategy, works to develop and implement the annual operating and capital budgets and then assists in achieving the developed goals.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Support the development of annual financial plans, including manipulation of financial models in financial planning software to integrate assumptions, impacts and initiatives as directed. Meets with regional leaders to determine labor and operating budgets that are accurate and reasonable while ensuring cost containment.
Support the development of interim forecasts and long term financial models, including manipulation of financial models in financial planning software to integrate assumptions, impacts and initiatives as directed.
Leads monthly review of financial statements to ensure completeness and accuracy. Assists in the month end close process as a liaison between centralized finance and the region to ensure accuracy and validity of financial statement information. Follows up on aberrations to expected financial performance.
Educates regional leaders on budgets, monthly reports and finance systems. Effectively coordinates all departments of the on as it relates to the financial impact of the organization. Regularly meets with regional leaders to track and ensure performance on financial initiatives.
Assists in compilation of information for annual tax returns.
Assists in compilation of information for monthly community benefits report
Assists in compilation of information for Medicare cost report

EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS
Required Minimum Education:
4 year/Bachelor’s Degree
Specialty/Major: Accounting/Finance related field
Preferred Education:
Graduate Degree (Masters)
Specialty/Major: Accounting/Finance or related field (MBA + other Bachelors also acceptable)
Minimum Years and Type of Experience:
3 - 5 years acute care financial/operational experience or system level Finance experience
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and financial forecasting and analysis software
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deadlines. Must have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
