About TeamUSDS Tech and Product at TikTok provides core product platforms and services with leading infrastructure and applications. Our Data Exchange System team provides support to various business-critical applications. You'll be part of a critical SRE team managing these applications, which control data based on compliance and security policies. In this role, you'll handle complex scaling challenges to ensure the overall uptime, reliability, functionality, and deployments of these applications.

In order to enhance collaboration and cross-functional partnerships, among other things, at this time, our organization follows a hybrid work schedule that requires employees to work in the office 3 days a week, or as directed by their manager/department. We regularly review our hybrid work model, and the specific requirements may change at any time.

ResponsibilitiesAs a Tech Lead Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of SREs/System engineers. You'll provide technical leadership and build up a strong team. You are expected to set up necessary processes for efficient execution and advocate good engineering practices. You will need to regularly communicate with other teams, service providers and our users.- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of SREs to improve their technical skills and foster a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence, including mentoring team members and supporting their career development.- Provide technical leadership, drive projects, and plan the long-term technology roadmap.- Work with cross-functional engineering and product teams to deliver key results, formulate service standards, and continuously optimize service quality.- Regularly review and refine quality engineering processes to keep pushing the boundary of efficiency and effectiveness.- Own end-to-end reliability and performance of DES GWs and drive the processes toward automation.- Provide technical expertise in infrastructure, automation framework, monitoring strategy, and best testing practices.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:- Bachelor or above degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline with 5+ years' working experience- 2+ years experience in managing an engineering team and projects in-depth involvement of large distributed systems/applications, networking, operating systems and/or storage.- Expertise in one of the following programming: C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, Ruby or shell scripting;

Preferred Qualifications:- Excellent software design, problem-solving, and debugging skills- Experience with Storage, MySQL, HDFS, message queue technologies, cloud-computing platform & processing & real-time networking technology will be required- Experience in compliance management with a strong track record of enabling products in a compliant way- Excellent project management skills- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills- Experience working with geographically distributed teams and willing to attend meetings as and when needed with global partners- Willing to travel as needed
