Overview:
The Respiratory Care Specialist provides critical care to patients with acute cardiac and pulmonary conditions. They operate respiratory equipment, perform diagnostic tests, and advocate for patients' needs as part of their role. They also assist with treatment plans designed by a licensed Respiratory Therapist.Responsibilities:Perform diagnostic tests such as EKG's to inform treatment plansAssist with monitoring of ventilators to improve patient recoveryAdvocate for patients' needs internally to deliver appropriate careVerify equipment functionality according to protocol for treatment plansDocument care and outcomes to maintain patient recordsSupport administration of advanced therapies such as bronchoscopiesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Education: Graduate of a 2-year school for Respiratory TherapyExperience: 1 year of clinical experience in Respiratory CareLicensure/Certification/Registry/Listing: Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a RRT; Licensed by the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board as a CRT or RRT; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider; ACLS-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
