ResponsibilitiesProvide a full range of physician services in accordance with privileges granted by corporate credentialing and the Medical Director.Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of, other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope of their clinical privileges or responsibilities.Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annual physicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills through education and counseling.Order diagnostic tests as applicable; request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians, clinics, or other health resources as indicated.Technically direct and teach other medical staff, and provide educational lectures and participate in the provision of in-service training to clinic staff members. Such direction and interaction will adhere to government and professional clinical standards and accepted clinical protocols. This requirement is consistent with the personal services nature of the contract. Collaborates with Medical Director to resolve quality issues and contributes to unit effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues or problems, examining solutions & options, recommending and implementing action plans and courses of action.Assesses the needs and identifies trends for the site specific client populations.Performs medical job causation reviews upon request to assess causality of reported work-related injuries.Examines patients and determines appropriate x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests; provides diagnosis and care based on medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic tests.Interprets test results, evaluates examination findings, formulates patient management plans, and communicates such to the patient.Determines the need for and assists in specialized medical care and treatment.Supports a referral network for specialists and workers' comp panels in concordance with Acuity protocol and state board of workers' compensation rules, and refers patients to them as needed.Provides accurate and timely responses to client inquiries.Serves as interface with local private physicians for referral of patients and interchange of information important to patient health and safety.Seeks opportunities to grow the clientele for the clinic; by pursing community outreach and public relations activities, with the support of senior management, as deemed appropriate.Seeks and maintains relationships with the client, public and professional agencies in order to maximize resources and ensure customer satisfaction.Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with mandated regulatory or conformance regulations/standards.Performs other assigned departmental operations to maintain workflow.Actively participates as part of the Acuity management team, working collaboratively with the Account Manager and Practice Administrators to achieve Acuity and Client goals.Develops physician networking with both local and internal peer groups and professional organization contacts.Travel required as determined by contract requirements to client sites globally.OTHER DUTIES:May lead or participate in interdepartmental project groups or task forces to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain specific level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, new task efforts, contract awards, and new policy requirements.Performs duties in a safe manner.Follows the corporate safety policy.Participates and supports safety meetings, training, and goals.Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.Identifies "near misses" and/or safety concerns to supervisory personnel. Maintains a clean and orderly work area.Assists in active implementation of company initiatives to ensure compliance with OSHA VPP, ISO, JCAHO, AAAHC, and other mandated regulations/standards.Job RequirementsPossess a Doctorate Degree in Medicine from an accredited college approved by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) , a Doctorate degree in Osteopathy from a college accredited by the American Osteopathic Association, or permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG).Successful completion of a residency program (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) which has been approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association or those Canadian training programs approved by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or other appropriate Canadian medical authority.Possess and maintain a current, valid, unrestricted license (corresponding to the specialty required by the task order) in one of the fifty states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.Acuity International is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer.
