Job Description SummaryThe Medicare Inpatient Rehabilitation Facility Patient Assessment Instrument ( IRF-PAI) Coordinator/ PPS Coordinator: a finance-related position requiring clinical skills, an RN that coordinates the process of providing accurate and timely data to the appropriate entities involved in the Prospective Payment System for Medicare patients. The IRF-PAI Coordinator oversees all aspects of data collection on the IRF PAI, ensures the presence of supporting documentation and provides staff education to ensure compliance with CMS guidelines. The PPS Coordinator coordinates all patient information to be submitted to CMS for Medicare reimbursement. Responsible for Utilization Review and formatting team conferences to maximize LOS efficiency. Coordinate and monitor compliance with 60% rule. Responsible for monitoring patient charts for correct coding, electronically transmitting data in a timely manner and communicating with a multidisciplinary team to create and carry out patient treatment plans. Monitor program compliance with changing for Medicare Services (CMS). In addition this position is responsible for staff orientation and ongoing education to improve FIM score accuracy at admission, throughout the stay, and upon discharge. Serves as educator of Functional Independence Measure (FIM) scoring according to Uniform Data System (UDS) training materials. Serves as a resource to licensed clinicians and clinical staff regarding questions and interpretation of FIM scoring guidelines, according to UDS training guidelines, in order to assure the accuracy of the FIM scores. This position will assist in the ongoing monitoring of identified outcome benchmarks for the inpatient population.

Additional Job Description

Education: Graduate of a School of Professional Nursing.

Experience: At least one year of clinical experience as a staff nurse. Previous clerical training is preferred

Licenses/Certificates: License to practice in the State of South Carolina or Compact Licensure Agreement. CRRN Preferred. Drivers Agreement.
