Due to growth in the area and an increasing demand for services, we are seeking an enthusiastic veterinarian to join Atchafalaya Animal Clinic's highly trained team. Our practice provides modern care built on family values to our clients and small animal patients. Our hospital is equipped with a new digital radiography unit, comprehensive diagnostic in-house laboratory equipment, dedicated surgical suite, electrocautery unit, and dental station. Our caseload includes small animal preventative medicine, internal medicine, dentistry, and general surgery.

Examine animals to assess their health and diagnose problemsTreat and dress woundsPerform surgery on animalsTest for and vaccinate against diseasesOperate medical equipment, such as x-ray machinesAdvise animal owners about general care, medical conditions, and treatmentsPrescribe medicationWork closely in collaboration with team members to provide high quality careQualifications
Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree requiredLicensure in the state/s candidate will be workingAbility to show compassion to both pets and their ownersOutstanding dexterity in handling animals while performing precise tasksAbility to react quickly and make decisions under pressure about the wellbeing of an animalStrong fondness and understanding of animalsGood communication and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of animal behaviorAbility to use medical technologies during diagnosis, research and surgery of animals
