Geotechnical Laboratory & Field-Testing Manager (SI&T)

STV is currently seeking an experienced Geotechnical Laboratory & Field-Testing Manager to join our team at the Glasgow, Kentucky office. The individual will be responsible for maintaining the laboratory's quality system, current accreditations, and managing the day-to-day production of the laboratory and inspections staff.Responsibilities :Managing laboratory production and providing quality assurance/quality control lab testing duties for soil, aggregate and rock core testing as well as for field testing and inspection projects.
Maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment and resources, including equipment calibrations and maintenance records.
Organizing and processing lab test data and daily field inspections reports. (including gINT, geosystems, HTMS Next reporting)
Day to day management of laboratory and field inspections staff and required certifications/training of said staff.
Schedule field inspections and sample pick up.
Provide initial troubleshooting with inspection staff for field testing equipment operation.
Provide initial guidance with inspections staff regarding earthwork construction best practices and interpretation of project plans and specifications.
Maintain AASHTO R18 Quality Management System and all documents required for AASHTO & CCRL accreditation, MTC Validation, and other state DOT validations, including PSP enrollment/testing and CAR submittals.
Communicate daily with contractors, architects, owners, and engineers to coordinate testing and special inspections aligned with Section 1704 of the IBC.
Qualifications:10+ Years Experience in an AASHTO/CCRL Accredited Geotechnical and construction materials testing laboratory.
10+ Years Experience in construction phase special inspections and materials testing.
Must have experience in concrete field testing and hold the following certifications:ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician - Level 1
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Level 1
ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
Must have experience in aggregate and soils sampling including the following certifications:ACI Aggregate Base Testing Technician
ACI Aggregate Testing Technician - Level 1
Excellent communication skills -verbal and written, must be proficient in MS office, HTMS Next, gINT, geosystems, Open Ground and Key Lab.
Strong project management capabilities, including managing multiple lab and field oriented projects simultaneously, managing project budgets, billing, and prioritizing tasks and managing resources including lab and field staff.
Ability to mentor lab and inspections staff, coordinate with construction clients, and collaborate with geotechnical engineers.
Detail oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to perform routine maintenance and calibrations for select laboratory equipment.
Compensation Range:$77,560.00 - $103,413.00
