Departmental Overview
Compensation$42/hr. Flat RateEvening differential $2.50/hr.Night differential $3.00/hr.Weekend differential $3.00/hr.Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a fast paced 24 bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit. Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our care team includes a charge nurse and unit assistants with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing a 6-8 week orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team, complemented by classroom courses, and a nurse residency program for new graduates. Job Summary
RN essential functions include, but are not limited to:
collaboration with other health professionals, assessment, analyzing assessment data, establishing goals, planning care strategy,establishing priorities of care, implementing care, delegating tasks safely, providing safe direct and indirect nursing care,evaluating responses to interventions, and performing additional nursing functions in accordance with knowledge and skills acquired beyond basic nursing preparation.Qualifications
Education
Diploma or Associate's degree (ADN) required, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), orMaster's of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred.Experience
Previous hospital experience helpful preferred.(Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience).
Schedule
This position is either days or nights.The weekend requirement is 4 weekend shifts in a 6 week schedule period.The holiday requirement is one summer holiday and one winter holiday.Licensure / Certification
Current Oklahoma Registered Nurse license. Basic Life Support (BLS) training or retraining is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.
