Position Title:

Finance Manager

Immediate Supervisor:

Chief Financial Officer/Chief Executive Officer

Position Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or relevant fields, with having completed some related graduate studies, Master's degree preferred3 years of financial/accounting or auditing experience, including 2 years of experience as a fiscal manager over budgets greater than one million dollarsKnowledge of computer based accounting programs/software and applicationsStrong analytical and problem solving skills, strong management and supervisory skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPlanningAssist the CFO and CEO in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor the implementation of strategic business plansAssist with the development of financial strategiesAssist with the budgeting processesAssist with the development of performance measures and monitoring systems that support the company's strategic directionProvides financial consultation and guidance to the CEO, the Program Directors and Board of Directors in areas related to strategic planning, budgeting, financial statement preparation, account analysis and other financial mattersOperations

Assist with managing the accounting, legal, tax, and treasury departmentsAssist with supervising and training accounting and finance staffManage any third parties to which accounting or finance functions have been outsourcedAssist with managing the company's transaction processing systemsImplement operational best practicesSupervise acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions as neededEngage with financial consultants and auditors as neededAssist with the recruitment, interviewing, and hiring of accounting and payroll staff as required.Serve as a key member of executive leadership team and round table discussion panel.Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, GAAP compliance and financial procedures.Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting data for federal funders, foundations, investors and company's board of directors.Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.Participate in the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.Ensure GAAP compliance regarding all financial functions.Work with Human Resources to ensure appropriate legal complianceFinancial Information

Oversee the issuance of financial informationPersonally review and approve all filings with IRS and State Attorney's OfficeReport financial results to the b oard of directors as neededRisk Management

Develops and updates financial policies and proceduresUnderstand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profileMonitor (all open) legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the child welfare agenciesAssess internal controls procedures of the agency to ensure assets are safeguardedConstruct and monitor reliable control systemsMaintain appropriate insurance coverageEnsure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirementsEnsure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agenciesReport risk issues to the audit committee of the board of directorsMaintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendationsFunding

Monitor cash balances and cash forecastsArrange for debt financing and equity financingDevelop and engage with donorsInvest funds as neededThird Parties

Participate in conference calls with the donorsMaintain banking relationshipsInteract with DCFS appointed representatives and monitors assigned to review or monitor DCFS funded contractsCash Management

Assist with overseeing monthly cash management and AP Department, approve large payables, sign checks upon CFO approval, authorize large wires and ACHs upon CFO approvalReview, improve, and implement Accounts Receivable processes and provide guidance relating to the collection process

QUALIFICATIONS

:

Education : Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant fields, Master's Degree Preferred

Experience : A minimum of 3 years accounting/financial management experience 2 years or more supervisory experience, preferably in a nonprofit corporation

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Accounting knowledge and aptitude

2. Mathematics and language arts proficiency

3. Must possess proficiency and skill with utilizing electronic data management and accounting systems

4. Must possess the ability to utilize Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Facetime as virtual meeting mediums

5. Must adhere to all CARF, DCFS, Federal IRS and State Department of Revenue guidelines and policies

6. Passion to make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in the community

7. Ability to provide leadership to achieve finance department goals and objectives.

8. Excellent communication and organizational skills

9. Able to work collaboratively with teams

10. Demonstrated reliability regarding attendance and work performance

11. Ability to be creative, flexible and adaptive in all activities and responsibilities

12. Must want to help address the needs of the community
