Rock West Composites, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for an Assembly Technician.
Rock West Composites, Inc. is an engineering and manufacturing company dedicated to providing innovative solutions for commercial and government customers. This position is located in our San Diego facility (Otay Mesa) and reports to the Production Lead.
Position Summary:
Performs a variety of manufacturing operations essential to completing sub-assemblies and final assemblies for composites and sheet metal aircraft components while maintaining all engineering requirements and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
Read, interpret, and follow blueprints and Manufacturing Plans to assemble composite and sheet metal components.Bond various materials such as composites, metals, and laminates, for assemblies, parts, components, and structures.Align components and sub-assemblies on jigs and fixtures.Layout, drill, form, and trim aircraft component parts and sub-assemblies.Perform part-fitting operations including filing, sawing, burring, trimming, drilling, reaming, and riveting.Mix and apply 2-part adhesive for sealing and edge bonding.Familiar with manufacturing execution systems for electronic buy off and status of workNon-Essential Functions:
Other duties as assigned.Required Education and Experience:
Ability to read and interpret aircraft blueprints.Experience working with mylar overlays.Minimum 6 years of experience in composites and/or sheet metal assemblyExperience/ expertise using drill motors, rivet guns, die grinders, cleco pliers, countersink cages, and standard hand tools and measurement equipment including calipers and micrometers.Knowledge of aircraft hardware, materials, and processesStrong math skills and mechanical aptitudeBi-Lingual Spanish preferredEducation: High School DiplomaPerks and Benefits:

Compensation:
The hourly range for this position falls within $26 and $32. The final compensation will be determined based on experience, skillset, and other factors permitted by law.
