Histotechnician

The Histotechnician is responsible for receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens and slides for examination by the pathologist. This role coordinates daily workflow in the surgical pathology area, serves as a resource to providers, and ensures the accurate tracking of specimens.Responsibilities:Perform technical procedures, including cutting, embedding, staining, and frozen sections, while upholding high-quality standards.Sort and record specimens in the pathology log to ensure timely processing and accurate tracking.Monitor inventory of supplies and equipment, and perform maintenance and quality control procedures.Contribute to inspection preparedness and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.Qualifications:High School Diploma or Equivalent.5 years experience in a histopathology laboratory setting.
