Atlantic Health System (AHS), one of the largest integrated healthcare systems in New Jersey, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pediatric Surgeon to join our esteemed team at Goryeb Children’s Hospital, the flagship children’s facility of AHS located within Morristown Medical Center, as well as Overlook Medical Center. The Division of Pediatric Surgery specializes in a comprehensive range of surgical procedures, including thoracic, oncologic, neonatal, and emergency surgeries. This position presents an exciting opportunity for both professional growth and the potential for a leadership role within the Division of Pediatric Surgery.
As a Pediatric Surgeon, you will have the opportunity to treat a wide range of complex and routine conditions in neonates, infants, children, and adolescents. In addition to general pediatric surgery, you will be responsible for newborn surgery and potential emergency surgeries. Collaborating with all pediatric subspecialties, you will play a vital role in the growth and development of the pediatric surgery program at Goryeb Children’s Hospital.
Joining our esteemed Department of Surgery will give you the opportunity to be a part of a prestigious independent residency training program in general surgery, renowned for producing seven highly skilled general surgeons annually. Our department takes immense pride in actively engaging in the education of medical students from the esteemed Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the New Jersey Medical School of Rutgers University. Goryeb Children’s Hospital serves as a regional campus for their clinical rotations, reflecting our commitment to fostering the future of healthcare through comprehensive training and academic involvement.
Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center is a renowned children’s facility within the Atlantic Health System. The Atlantic Health System includes Overlook, Chilton, Newton and Hackettstown Medical Centers. The Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center is the only one with a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and a staff of pediatric anesthesiologist. The Pediatric Surgeons at Goryeb Children’s Hospital at Morristown Medical Center receive transfer children from all Atlantic Health System Hospitals, as well as other community hospitals in the region. With its dedication to providing exceptional pediatric care, Goryeb Children’s Hospital has earned a well-deserved reputation for excellence in healthcare. At Goryeb Children’s Hospital, we are proud to offer state-of-the-art facilities and advanced technology. With more than 250 community pediatricians on staff and over 100 board-certified pediatric specialists, along with a significant number of beds, we have the capacity to serve a diverse patient population, addressing both routine and complex medical conditions in neonates, infants, children, and adolescents.
The Atlantic System Hospitals have had 8,000 births in the last year of which over 5,000 births occurred at Morristown Medical Center.
