Position Highlights:
Position: Physician, Pediatric Hospitalist
Location: Northwest Community Hospital; Arlington Heights, IL; Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL
Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
Hours: Monday - Sunday, Varies based on site/services
Required Travel: Options to rotate at other sites are available
We are seeking two full-time qualified physicians to join the Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine. The primary locations of this role include the Pediatric Acute Care Center, a new hybrid model at Endeavor Health Northwest Community Hospital. Pediatric care will include pediatric evaluation of Level 2-5 ED pediatric patients, consult on Level 1 ED pediatric patients, attend to extended stay patients, and conduct initial evaluations of adolescent psychiatry patients. The dedicated care team includes board-certified pediatric hospitalists, pediatric emergency medicine physicians, advanced practice providers, and specially trained nurses. You'll have access to pediatric subspecialists through the Chicagoland Children's Healthcare Alliance. The second location is Evanston Hospital, including both newborn nursery and nocturnist responsibilities. Time spent at each location can vary and is be based on the physician's experience, strengths and Division needs.
What you will do:
Pediatric hospitalists hired to this position will be part of the Endeavor Health Department of Pediatrics and function as a Pediatric Hospitalist and function in a practice expansion to Northwest Community Hospital. Pediatric care will include pediatric evaluation of Level 2-5 ED pediatric patients, consult on Level 1 ED Pediatric Patients, attend Extended Stay patients, neonates, and initial evaluation of adolescent psychiatry patients.
Evaluate and consult on pediatric patients arriving in the Emergency Department
Provide active management for pediatric patients requiring observation up to 48 hours
Provide educational supervision to house-staff, students, paramedics, and EMT's on duty or on rotation in the Emergency Department
Attend all Pediatric Code Blues
Assist the neonatologist as needed in attending deliveries
What you will need:
Education: U.S. accredited Pediatric Residency Program
License: IL Medical License or License Pending
Certification: Board certified or board prepared in Pediatrics (American Board of Pediatrics)
Experience: Newborn Nursery Experience, ED or Immediate Care Experience (preferred)
