Responsibilities

This position will be a dynamic position supporting our hand therapy team, as well as patient populations including neurological conditions and lifestyle management for Ehler's Danlos Syndrome and for patients preparing for bariatric weight loss surgery. Hand therapists are responsible for the application of current knowledge, theory, evidence and sound clinical judgment in patient management. The hand therapist works closely with the patient, family and other members of an interdisciplinary team to provide efficient and effective individualized patient care. Hand therapists also serve as advocates and promoters of health, wellness, and fitness to all stakeholders. They serve as educators and mentors for therapy students, residents, peers and other medical professionals.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida as an Occupational Therapist. Demonstrated skills in the areas of organization, communication, interpersonal relations, leadership, decision making and problem solving.

Prefer active participation within professional organization.

REQUIRED Qualifications: Certified Hand Therapist Certification (CHT) through the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. A therapist is eligible to take the exam with 3 years of clinical practice, and 4,000 hours of direct hand therapy experience.

Current occupational therapy licensure in the state of Florida.

Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Specialty Certification, including, but not limited to: Physical Rehabilitation (BCPR), Environmental Modification (SCEM or SCEM-A), Low Vision (SCLV), Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT-LANA),
