Job Overview

BrightStar Care’s Physical Therapists are responsible for evaluating the patient’s condition and develop an individualized plan of care tailored to each patient based on the physician’s orders. They help patients manage pain and improve mobility, stability, balance and safety to improve quality of life.

As a Physical Therapist, you are responsible for:

Contacting with clients under a wide variety of circumstances. Care provided in client’s living environment with varying situations or in an institution such as a hospital. May be required to respond to emergency situations. Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues

Requirements

Graduated with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or higher degree in physical therapy from an accredited physical therapy program.

Passed the National Physical Therapy Examination (NPTE)

Fulfilled all other state required examination.

Compliant with continuing education, within state requirements as a condition of maintaining licensure.

Comply with all state mandated Physical Therapy Practice Act and other legal mandates.

Licensed or certified to practice as a physical therapist as required by the state.

Two years of appropriate experience as a physical therapist. Facility/home health experience and interpersonal skills.

Ability to safely manage patients utilizing proper body mechanics.

Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, theory, methods and evidence-based practice.

Comply with accepted professional, ethical and legal standards of practice.

Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with patients and staff.

Treat patients, families and staff with courtesy and respect.

Adhere to HIPAA and maintain patient confidentiality.

Must be able to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Varied assistance is required depending on the mobility of the client. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Must have empathy for the needs of the client.
