We partner with our Nurses at Alaska Regional Hospital!Job Summary and QualificationsAs a Coordinator of Infection Prevention you will be responsible for the implementation and ongoing monitoring of the infection prevention and control programs for healthcare system/facility. We work hard to support the patients and families in our community while supporting each other. We are looking for someone who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do. In this role:

You will incorporate into practice effective activities that are specific to the practice setting, the population served and the continuum of care.You will provide knowledge and guidance in infection prevention, control, and epidemiology.You will implement initiatives through performing surveillance, consultation and education regarding prevention and control activities under the direction of the Director Quality Management.You will serve as an educator and educational resource for health care providers, ancillary staff, patients, families, and the general public.You will serve in emergency preparedness and response activities as it relates to infection prevention and control.You will apply epidemiologic principles and statistical methods, including risk stratification and benchmarking, to identify target populations, determine risk factors, design prevention and control strategies, analyze trends, and evaluate processes.You will use a systematic approach to monitor the effectiveness of infection prevention and control program strategies that are consistent with the organization’s goals and objectives.You will collaborate with employee occupational health in the development of strategies that address the risk of disease transmission to health care providers and ancillary staff.

What qualifications you will need:Certification in Infection Control (CIC ) preferred.Bachelor Degree in nursing, medical technology, clinical laboratory science, public health or other health-related field preferred.State of Alaska Registered Nurse preferred.1-year Infection Prevention experience required.
