Head of Hatchery Live Technical services
JobDescription
This is a position for Head of Hatchery Technical Services. This individual will work directly with all complexes and all Members of the Live Technical Team to improve hatchery performance across the company. This position will report to the Head of Breeder Technical Services
Job Location
Remote with 75% travel required
Responsibilities
•Routine hatchery trouble shooting in underperforming hatcheries
•Organizing and schedule a Hatchery Managers meeting each year
•Update and maintain company programs specific to hatcheries
•Represent Pilgrim's at industry hatchery conferences
•Update and maintain policies and procedures specific to hatcheries
•Ensure all hatcheries are following all hatchery policies
•Oversee and guide new Hatchery construction or upgrades.
•Conduct hatchery audit at each hatchery annually
•Train hatchery manager trainees and develop their training program
•Assist Hatchery managers and QA in training hatchery staff
•Analyze hatchery data
•Participate in the training of new hatchery managers
Required Education and Experience
•5 years of hatchery manager experience required.
•In depth knowledge of hatchery equipment, biosecurity, animal welfare, and industry best practices
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Power Point.
•Advanced skills to learn other computer programs.
•Basic accounting skills.
•Exceptional communication skills.
•Very detail oriented.
•Ability to take on difficult tasks and learn from them.
•Ability to work with Live Production & Tech Services team members on a daily basis.
