Newton, MA fixed hybrid schedule, 3 days in office

Reporting to the Senior Director of FP&A, the Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis will support the broader organization in budget planning and financial forecasting related to historical performance, future assumptions, and business targets. This role requires both strategic and tactical involvement in the company's financial forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, and special ad-hoc projects. The FP&A Manager is responsible for generating and analyzing various monthly and quarterly reports, working with internal stakeholders to understand business factors, and providing meaningful analysis and insights to support business decisions. A successful individual will challenge the status quo and handle multiple priorities simultaneously, working well within a team, independently, and cross-functionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Acts as the key finance partner for assigned regions to support creation of the annual budget, monthly reforecasting, price analysis, rate increases, labor analysis, cost analysis and KPI tracking. Provides strategic financial support for regional and community teams including Operations, Sales, Clinical, Maintenance and Dining.Works closely with the Director of Revenue Management and Sales and Marketing to continually reforecast and identify areas of focus.Supports the creation of financial reports and dashboards. Leads the preparation of monthly and quarterly regional updates for asset management and senior leadership. Presents financial results, variance analysis, and strategic recommendations to senior management.Perform high-impact analyses of business results, identifying trends, variances, and potential opportunities, leveraging and synthesizing multiple data sets.Assists in the development and implementation of financial strategies to support business growth and operational efficiency. Provides financial input for strategic initiatives and projects. Builds models and performs ad-hoc financial analysis for regional and community teams.Identifies cost reduction targets and tracks progress towards achieving goals, including opportunities in dining, maintenance, P-card spending and T&E.Continuously improve FP&A processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and value-add of the function.Experience :

Minimum of 5 +years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysisExperience in multi-unit senior living operations preferred.Technical Skills:

Proficiency in core financial and operations systems such as Workday, Microsoft Power BI, OnShift, Salesforce, and PointClickCare.Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel.Attributes :

Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and presentation skills to be able to translate financial results into meaningful insights.Ability to work well within a team, independently, and cross-functionally.Commitment to excellence and accountability in driving results.

Location Information

Five Star Senior Living's corporate headquarters are located in Newton, Massachusetts. Just 20 minutes outside of downtown Boston, the building features easy access to public transportation and the Massachusetts Turnpike.
