Under the direction and supervision of the provider and department leadership, the Medical Assistant is responsible for both clinical and administrative duties to prepare the patient for the encounter, assist the clinicians in the delivery of care, and maintain service areas, equipment, and supplies. This role is also responsible for some general clerical and scheduling duties in conjunction with department operations.Minimum EducationHigh School graduate or equivalent.Graduate of Medical Assistant program preferred.Minimum Work Experience1-2 Years Medical Assistant experience, preferably in physician practice or hospital outpatient services setting.1 year of secretarial or administrative experience, including medical terminology.Required Licenses/CertificationsBLS Certification through American Heart Association.Current nationally accredited Medical Assistant Certification/Registered,(preferred) orCurrent Vermont State LNA License (preferred)Required Skills, Knowledge, and AbilitiesAbility to report patient care observations, deviations from patient’s plan of care and other pertinent information under the direct supervision of a provider or licensed nursing staff.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated
