Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed.Studies and interprets blueprints to visualize final form of die, part or tool, and plans sequence of operations to achieve desired end resultWorks from prints, sketches, verbal or written instructions, or from existing part to be copied or fittedLifts, positions, and secures parts to be machined on surface plate or worktable, using hoist, vises, v-blocks, or angle platesSets up and operates machine tools such as manual grinders and other equipment.Plans the set up and operation of tooling considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants, and grinding dimensions.Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts, using measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gages, dial indicators, and gage blocksFits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies, using wrenches, hammers, arbor or hydraulic pressesTrouble shoots poor performing tools, identifying deficiencies and suggesting improvementsInventories, requests, and investigates alternative cutting tools and shop suppliesRequirements:
