Responsibilities

Greet and communicate with patients and visitors within the facilityAnswer incoming calls to the facilityRegister patients and verify identity, demographics, financial and insurance informationCommunicates with other business office and clinical departmentsOpen mail and distributeAccept and record patient cost share paymentsPrepare and reconcile daily depositsMaintain clean and tidy lobby areaVerify vendor and visitor sign inPatient chart preparation

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalentBilingual preferredTwo years previous medical clerical experienceBasic knowledge of Medical TerminologyBasic computer skills and familiarity with medical softwareStrong communication skillsExperience in HST/HST Case Coordination strongly preferred, but not requiredStrong verbal and written communication skillsExperience with answering a high volume of calls in a professional mannerAttention to detail, self-motivated, ability to meet deadlinesMust be able to type with speed and accuracy.

Qualified candidates may be asked to take a typing test on-site as part of the interview process and must receive a passing scoreAbility to complete work with minimal supervision and able to work both independently and in a team environmentAssists with other Business Office duties and Business Office cross training as assignedProficient with Outlook emailComputer experience requiredAdheres to all HIPAA guidelines and regulationsMust have minimum one year experience in medical terminologyMust have experience with commercial, Medicare, Workers’ Compensation insuranceMeets all punctuality and attendance requirements, adheres to lunch schedules and breaksMust be flexible with various shifts/hours, including Saturdays
