POSITION SUMMARY :The Operator Mixer is responsible for the accurate and timely production of dry finished powder products and movement of finished, packaging and raw materials. An Operator Mixer is expected to properly carry out all duties as defined below under Essential Functions. All work will be performed in a safe and sanitary manner while correctly following all SOP Guidelines and work instructions related to the Job. Duties includes (but not limited to): proper operation, equipment lockout procedures, sampling, testing, processing and cleaning of product and equipment. A thorough knowledge and understanding of all materials, equipment, processes and controls is necessary for successful qualification. Operator Mixer need to be able to work with warehouse, quality, maintenance, production employees and supervisors to achieve their job goals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Adhere and comply with all company safety policies including reporting any unsafe acts or near missesHelp promote and support company health and safety policy practices and proceduresPerforms tasks safely and comply with GMP policies at all timesAssure adherence to all elements of SQF system and policiesAssembles, disassemble, operates, and troubleshoots related equipment including but not limited to blenders, sifters, magnets, metal detectors, hoppers, and packersSupport other Production areas with tasks requiredUnderstands and maintains the HACCP program in detail; including metal detector, magnets, sifter checks and scale checks and proper recordkeepingFollow proper blending instructions provided in the batch ticket sheets supplied by managementThe ability to perform all quality testing and understand how to correct/troubleshoot Out of Spec (OOS) powder results such as flow, viscosity and bulk densityCorrectly follow all production, cleaning procedures as described in the SOPKnow the location of all raw and packaging materials and finished production within the warehouseLocate & maintain inventories by moving ingredients within the inventory system (D365) and bringing them to the work areaMaintains records including but not limited to computer, sanitation, pre-op and batch ticketsSafely and properly operate a forkliftCorrectly complete and submit work orders requiring a maintenance personPerform minor maintenance on equipmentEffectively perform all other duties as assigned or directed by managementComply with all policies and procedures of the CompanySolid Communication skills required between team members, other shifts and other departmentsWork collaboratively as a member of a teamAttend all company mandated training sessions – these include Safety, Good Manufacturing Practices, etc.
REQUIREMENTS:High School Diploma/GED preferred.0-3 years of manufacturing/production experience desired.Basic math, reading & writing competency is required.Must be able to operate a forklift truck (sit down, stand up, walkie and hand-jack).Ability to lift 60 pounds unassisted is requiredAbility to maneuver minimum of 5-gallon pails and 55-gallon drums with proper material handling equipmentValid driver's license for forklift license
