is looking for a Bridge Carpenter Foreperson to train and direct activities of the crew constructing, erecting, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures of wood, plywood, and wallboard, conforming to local building codes in heavy civil and highway construction projects.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all work according to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesReads blueprints and job-related documents to properly plan workRecords daily events in job diarySchedules materials, equipment, and work for the crewDevelops crew SIP's and submits to site ForepersonTracks daily quantities and submits to site ForepersonConducts daily huddles with crew to establish daily production goals and ensures all members of crew know and buy into the plan for the dayCommunicates goals and purposes effectively. Lead and demonstrate by exampleInfluences and enforces company values. Recognizes misalignments with company values and culture and rectifiesProactively trains and mentors crew members to enhance their skills and knowledgeCommunicates with customer representatives and inspectors in a courteously and professionallyPerforms all other duties of crew members as neededOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills, Education, and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR one year of related experience and/or training
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Working knowledge and ability to safety and efficiently understand and direct carpentry crewAbility to read blueprints and job-related documentsAbility to operate surveying instrument, shoot elevations and straight linesExperience with pile driving and drilling equipmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated leadership abilityProblem solvingBasic computer skills including internet, email, and the use of digital cameras for work documentationDriver’s license and clean driving recordAbility to travel as required for projectsAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience2 years of relevant experience and/or trainingExperience operating heavy equipment used in highway constructionSupervisory experienceOSHA or other relevant safety certifications
