Overview

is seeking a Floating Portable Plant Operator for our site and portable plants. In this position, you’ll provide smooth operations of plant equipment and provide the correct mix design, slump, and requested quantities per hour. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable, action oriented, and customer focused.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms all work adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policiesCommunicate with customers, inspectors, and company personnel to provide a smooth and efficient daily operationComplete and maintain accurate daily and monthly inventories of raw materialsComplete plant preventative maintenance to minimize downtimeParticipate in weekly meetingsProduce quantities in excess of 200 cubic yards per hour while maintaining consistencyOther duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent (such as the GED) from an accredited educational institution

Equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered

Six months of experience with concrete batch productionKnowledge and skill in the operation of batch plant equipment and softwareStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsProblem solvingAbility to work a flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends, during periods of high demandAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)

Preferred Skills, Education, and ExperienceKnowledge and skill in the operation of Stevens and/or Rex Model S batch plant equipment and Command batch and/or RC3 softwareOne year of experience with concrete batch productionOSHA or other relevant safety certifications
