process and coordinate activities within the warehouse, and in purchasing and distributing of raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies in the organization

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs all work according to OSHA/MSHA and H&K Safety policiesLocates and purchases materials and parts for the warehouse inventory, quarries/asphalt plants, shop locations, or other company locations as determined based on need.Routinely collaborate with multiple departments to ensure warehouse stock is appropriately maintained – electrical, maintenance, materials, safety (PPE), etc.Responsible for care and preservation of items received, stored and shipped; methods and use of equipment, including forklift, in handling, storing, maintaining and shipping stock; and related tasks. Unloading and loading freight. Unpacking/repacking, receiving, tagging and stocking parts. Pulling stock and preparing purchase request orders.Creates paperwork and tags for items in need of repair through a vendor or a manufacturer. Tracks the repairs progress. Finishes paperwork when repair is complete. Stocks or send to site, repaired item.Demonstrates cost consciousness, mathematical skills, and gets multiple quotes before ordering to ensure best prices for purchases.Provides quality customer service when interacting with vendors, clients, and customers - both internal and external.Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future. inventory/material availability and verifies material arrives at warehouse/location on time.Track purchases, costs, prices and inventory utilizing Explorer software.Receives purchase orders from the field.Maintains warehouse/stockroom cleanliness and organization.Prepares and invoices sales orders and creates stock adjustments from sign-out sheets using the company's ERP system.Schedules and performs periodic cycle counts. Organizes stock and coordinates total inventory counts. This includes a comprehensive annual on-hand inventory.Abilities and/or willingness to demonstrate reasoning ability within the construction industry, and equipment/computer skills with various software programs/platforms.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills, Education, and ExperienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university OR high school diploma or equivalent (such as a GED) from an accredited educational institution with one year of relevant training or experienceEquivalent combinations of education and experience may be consideredProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)Written and Verbal communication skillsDemonstrated business acumen and analytical skillsDemonstrated customer service and teamwork skillsAbility to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as neededAbility to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)Preferred Skills, Education, and ExperienceTwo years of relevant experienceAble to (willing to learn) forklift operations for certificationExperience with purchasing or procurement in heavy civil/highway construction, surface mining/quarries, or other heavy industry such as asphalt and concrete manufacturing
