ROLE SUMMARY

The position of the Accountant plays a crucial role in the financial operations of a bank, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and integrity in the accounting and financial reporting processes. They are responsible for managing and reconciling financial transactions, preparing financial statements, and providing valuable financial insights to support the bank's decision-making processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare, review, and post journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies to maintain accurate financial records.Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.Compile and prepare internal management reports and external regulatory reports.Assist in the preparation and review of quarterly and annual SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K reports, and coordinate earnings releases.Ensure adherence to banking regulations and internal policies related to financial reporting and accounting practices.Assist in internal and external audits by providing accurate financial data and supporting documentation.Conduct variance analysis to identify and explain differences between actual and budgeted financial performance.Utilize accounting software and other financial tools to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.Other duties as assignedRequirements

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required Education/Experience:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Professional certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) are often preferred or required.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Salary Description

$66,661 - $76,460, annually
