Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Director, assist in all administrative/clerical tasks at the center. Interact/greets center members and guests, supports all programing at the center and assist with home delivery meal services.Answer telephones and assist with callsRecruit, supervise and coordinate activities of volunteer workerRecruit, supervise, and coordinate activities of volunteer workers, interns, Easter Seals workers and vocational rehab workers, who perform essential daily functions at the center.Perform general duties to include, but not limited to photocopying, faxing, mailing and filingPerforms collecting, recording and daily records of contributions, fund raising activities and petty cash.Supports Director weekly in counting DFTA Breakfast, Lunch, Fundraising money and depositsHelp to coordinate special programs and eventsAssist with fliers, newsletter, bulletin boards, etc.Conduct client registration and create new membership ID cardsAssist with fundraising activities, including receipts and spreadsheetAssist with documentation and input into the program databaseCollect and record daily records for attendance and congregate meals and maintain databaseMaintain monthly recreational logAssist with and maintain all required documentation of the fundraising receipts and expensesAssist with Information & ReferralOversees recreational tripsOther duties as required by the Director and organization.COMPETENCIES
Spanish speaking skills requiredSome knowledge of and a genuine concern for the physical, mental and emotional needs of older personsComputer skills required, with ability to learn data base maintenanceAbility to read, write, and speak EnglishAbility to work independentlyCommitment to organizations mission, vision and valuesAbility to understand the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communitiesHave a commitment to supporting communities who have experienced systemic oppression and bias (e.g. people of color, LGBTQ+ people, immigrants, justice involved persons, etc.)
EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent, and specialized training or skills in recreational activities or two years experience in a community, group work or teacher environment
