The 5th floor Inpatient unit is a fast-paced, 27-bed medical surgical unit that offers rewarding nursing opportunities at a Magnet designated hospital. We are seeking a Registered Nurse to: Help provide high-quality patient-centered care in a professional environment that fosters and values collaboration, respect, and diversity. Join a team of remarkable nurses and have the opportunity to care for general care and select IMC patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical diagnoses. Work in a collaborative environment, surrounded by state of the art technology, evidence-based practice and a strong interdisciplinary team. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and lead practice changes. Collaborate in the development, execution and evaluation of the multidisciplinary plan of care. Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in traveler's profile in resume, portal and all onboarding documentation). Experience: Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within last 3 years. Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital. Traveler must have successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks). Education: Associate degree in Nursing. Licensure and Certification: Traveler must have WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state. BLS - must be certified through American Heart Association ONLY Reference Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years). Telemetry Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience. Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not for clinic positions). UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to traveler 2-3 weeks prior to start date. Floating Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs. During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be re-assigned to another unit in order to complete contract. Position Urgency: Quick Start Shifts: 36 hrs/week, Nights (NOC), 12 hr shifts, 1900 - 0730 primarily weekends, some holidays required as determined by operational need.
